New York is sending their leading scorer to Los Angeles in a three-team trade, Adrian Wojnarowski reports
Around 3 o’clock this afternoon, in the heat of the NBA Trade Deadline, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Knicks, Clippers, and Wizards agreed to a three-team trade. The reported trade would send Isaiah Thomas and Marcus Morris Sr. to the Clippers, Jerome Robinson to the Wizards, and Moe Harkless as well as a 2020 first round pick in the NBA Draft to the Knicks.
At this time, it is believed that the Knicks will receive the Clippers’ first round pick in the upcoming NBA Draft along with 26 year old Small Forward Moe Harkless. It will be a homecoming for Harkless who grew up in Queens, New York.
The reported trade is further evidence that the Knicks are in a rebuild. They unloaded their leading scorer for a future draft pick, which will benefit New York in the long-run. While the Knicks may have lost a temporary piece, they have a chance to pick up another player that will be part of their future. Marcus Morris Sr. was signed by the Knicks this past off-season to a one-year deal. His 19.6 points per game are a career high for the former Kansas big man.
