New York plans to hire Leon Rose as next team President.

It was announced this morning that New York is expected to name CAA Player Agent Leon Rose as the team’s next president. The move comes just two days after the Knicks parted ways with former President Steve Mills. It is also being reported at this time that the Knicks are pursuing William Wesley for a position within the organization as well.

Leon Rose has an excellent background as an agent. He represents some of the best players in the league, including Joel Embiid, Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Karl-Anthony Towns. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, a formal deal between the Knicks and Rose is not expected to be announced until after the NBA Trade Deadline passes.

Rose will become the third Team President since 2014. New York has failed to make the playoffs every year since then. The Knicks have only made the playoffs five times in the last 20 years.
