New York will soon join the ranks of New Jersey and Delaware and will offer online casino gambling to its citizens. State legislators have made multiple attempts to regulate online gaming in the past and will take another shot at doing so in 2019.
At some point, New York will pass iGaming legislation and when that happens, here are some of the games you can find at New York casinos online.
If you love slots, you’ll find thousands of slot games at online casinos in NY. You’ll find everything from Classic Slot games to Video Slot games, along with 3-Reel, 5-Reel, 256 Ways to Win, and more.
Expect to see a large selection of specialty slot games that include games featuring hit movies, pop culture, and much more. If you want to play for life-changing money, check out Progressive Slot games. These jackpots anywhere from a few hundred dollars to life-changing prizes worth millions.
Roulette players can expect many of the most popular forms of online roulette games at New York online casinos. Both American and European Roulette games should be offered, with European Roulette offering much better odds than the American version of the game.
Limits for these games will be as low or as high as you’d like to play with lower limits allowing bets for just pennies with upper limit games allowing you to bet up to $5,000 per spin of the wheel. In addition to standard games, you’ll see other forms of Roulette such as Roulette Master, 3 Wheel Roulette, Roulette Royal, and Double Bonus Spin Roulette.
Blackjack players will find plenty of action at New York online casinos, but based on what we’ve seen in New Jersey, games will likely be somewhat generic with between six and eight decks used for games and shuffled after each hand.
You’ll find games such as Atlantic City Blackjack, Vegas Strip Blackjack, Blackjack Pro, Multi-Hand Blackjack, and more. Stakes for Blackjack will range from micro stakes to high stakes with max bets likely approaching the $10,000 range.
Live Dealer Games
The odds are that at least some casinos will offer Live Dealer games, especially if 888 casino or Golden Nugget provide services in the state. Live Dealer games offer the social aspect of live casino play in an online setting.
Expect to find Live Dealer Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, and Casino Hold’em at New York online casinos. The overall selection of Live Dealer Games may be limited when casinos first launch but expect these games to increase in popularity as online casinos sites become established.
When Will Online Gambling be Legal in New York?
The big question now is when online gambling will be legal in New York. 2019 will be the third straight year that lawmakers have filed legislation to regulate the activity, but citizens may need to wait a bit longer before playing at online casinos in NY. That’s because lawmakers are currently focused on finalizing legislation on sports betting.
New York Assemblyman Gary Pretlow is one of the biggest supporters of online gambling legislation in the state but has made it clear that sports betting will be a top priority of lawmakers in 2019. He’s also stated that sports betting will be regulated separately from online poker.
As such, New Yorkers will have to wait a bit longer before playing at regulated casinos online. The good news is that online casino gambling is viewed as a companion to sports betting, and something that lawmakers will focus on next. We estimate that New York will regulate online casino gambling sometime in 2020.
